Before the LO came, we had two babies that we loved and adored. The mama cat and the baby cat. We gave them loads of attention and we even discussed them at parties. We would spend weekends playing with them and hanging out. Then the LO was born and I became a little consumed but DH took the cats on and has taken care of them 100%. He never complains and does a great job with them. The mama cat and him have a special relationship that words can't describe but the song "You're my best friend," comes to mind.
The mama cat has not been looking too good lately so DH took her to the vet and she has a hyperactive thyroid with off the chart numbers. She has to take medication twice a day and her chin which has looked bad with the acne opened up and the skin is open with no fur and bloody. She has lost two pounds and she is having trouble jumping. I feel so bad for the cat! There is an operation that she can have that will solve the problem but it is over $1,500. We have a lot of bills right now and it doesn't seem realistic to spend the money. I am at a complete loss of what to do as DH looks heart broken and can't even discuss the possibility. I think it would be weird to have a fundraiser for the cat's operation and I can't imagine putting her down as she is only 8 years old. She has been such an amazing cat. She is a mother for crying out loud. What would you do? Although, there is a little part of me that wants to hold a 5k Walk/Run with "Save Mama" t-shirts.
