It's Me Blogging and Stuff

Nothing will get you back to blogging faster than a big ol' guilt trip.  "I was waiting for my toddler daughter at the hospital while she was under anesthesia and checked your blog for an update but found nothing." Well, geez. Life is grand for all intents and purposes.  My personal health is kind of a disaster but I seem to have found a decent endocrinologist who seems to be on it.  Maybe? I am having a lot of tests done that are unpleasant for the thyroid, adrenals and diabetes.  I feel a big WTF on the health stuff as I am young and healthy and no family history EXCEPT she believes that it is genetic and peeps died too young or didn't figure it out.  YEAH for me and LO, poor thing.  I don't want to pass on all this junk to her.  I also had to say that I wouldn't get pregnant while this is all going on.  Or maybe EVER.  I am not devastated but we were leaving up to the will of the world and now it feels so final.  No more little babies, sniff, sniff, NO MORE PREGNANCY, Yipppeee.  No more first steps and little teeny babies but NO MORE DIAPERS AND SPIT-UP, Yippppeee.  I am truly conflicted and not at all.  I see myself traveling abroad with one child and it seems so easy but I feel bad that LO won't have a sibling.  Just add it to the therapy list for the poor thing.

LO is getting SO BIG and so freaking funny.  She will casually walk into the living room without a stitch of clothing on and lean against the wall with her hand on her hip and say, "Whatchhhhhyyyyaaaa doin'?" She knows that it kills EVERY TIME.  She has been obsessed with Spiderman and His Amazing Friends.  Do you remember the show with Firestar and Iceman for the early 80s.  LO was using the iPad while I showered and started watching it and has been hooked.  I was slightly mortified at first but she loves it.  She refers to herself as Firestar pretty often.  We were having dinner at my grandfather's senior living place and one of the ladies asked her name so she said, "Firestar."  Then the lady referred to her as Fireside the entire night.  It was pretty hilarious.  LO was not amused by the mistake.

School has been amazing as everything just clicked and separating at school is not a big thing anymore.   I even have an hourish to run to the grocery store ALONE.  I am adjusting to the SAHM thang.  12-13 hours straight with your child is a bit rough at first as she doesn't nap and she crawls in our bed around 1am.  So we are together as in sharing a pillow for most of the night and all day but she is adorable and I couldn't imagine it any other way now.  I woke up this morning and she was completely naked and freezing cold telling me to scooch over in my own bed.  We put clothes on her but sometimes she is moved to take them off and then other times not.  It is really a toss up if she will be clothed or not at any time of day or night.

We are currently killing everything in our back and front yard so we can redo sprinklers and take out trees and replant and have a vegetable garden.  I am pretty excited but we can't really go outside for three weeks and we are on day three.  We have finally ordered some furniture and the house will look less bare pretty soon.  We will be grown-ups and stuff.

That is the haps over on this island.  I am going to blog more soonish totally.  I will, promise.

LO's princess obsession has gone over the top.  Thankfully, she has really understanding teachers.

And How Are YOU Doing?

Does thinking of blog posts count as actual blogging? I started taking meds for Hashimoto's about six weeks ago and it has kind of wreaked havoc.  The pills interacted with another med that I was taking that I had to wean off and that was not fun.  Then I started having adverse reactions to the meds making me tired, unable to focus, neck pain, nauseous and horrid feeling.  AND unable to eat chocolate.  Weirdness as chocolate makes me gag and I reallllllly love chocolate.  The up side is better digestion, prettier hair and I have lost weight.  I go for some tests this week and then meet with the doctor so I am hoping that it will get better but in the mean time, I have FELT the guilt as LO has watched more TV and I felt like I didn't get to do everything for her birthday extravaganza that I wanted.  She was fine but I was upset.  Now her party in pics.

omg my party is so fun
I will be in here alone now that my friends are here
This pic made me realize why wearing maternity bras
three years later is a bad idea.

LO told me that she really had hoped for a
castle cake when I made the princess cake.  She wasn't
impressed with this cake either btw.

Now me and some of my friends will try and eat the bubbles
She also scored some more gifts.

And this video never gets old to me.

Just cuz we are sharing, a few other things that we have been doing.  We went to the Huntington Library and had such a fab time.  LO loved the art and gardens as in crying when we left.

She named her, "The Queen."

I hopped over to Scottsdale to celebrate my aunt's big birthday.  I went ALONE, it was kinda fab.

And some other random pics of non-princess dresses.

Freeeeeeeee

The birthday girl turned freeeeee today and let me tell you, I was tired.  The family visit and excursions galore were fun but girls plus more girls was a lot of talking and twirling and princess business.  LO literally loved the face off of her cousins and all the fun stuff.   She did mention that "her cousins talked a lot." There were four adults and four children so there were lots of people about for emergency bathroom runs and the such.  At one point, I found myself with the three youngest and I felt like they all went in different directions and I was sure that I would lose one of them in some freak accident.  But thankfully, my child was not the one that visited urgent care or the one who stuck a metal object in a light socket.  Score!

Yes, the cake is leaning.  That cake almost killed me.
Birthday castle

Flying in a rocket
Today was almost anti-climatic but we pushed on and decorated a cake from this place for a billion dollars.  LO also opened up some more gifts.

And a friend to dress up with and blow out the candles.

What can I say about this three year old? She is amazing. I could go on and on about her kindness, sweet demeanor, beauty and smarts but you should probably just call me so I can go into extreme detail.    When she was born, we had an amazing night nurse who told me that you love kids more and more as they get older.  I thought that wasn't possible as I loved her so much upon meeting her but I fall more in love every day.

Birthday Train

Let your power shine, intramenet friends.  We embarked on the multi-faceted birthday train today.   We had the all important school birthday celebration.  They provided Oreos which seem to be what all kids with assorted allergies can eat.  Who knew that something so manufactured could be so universal?  They also blow out candles on a bejeweled cake.  We had discussed the teacher celebration a lot but she acted pretty terrified when it happened.

Good G-d WTH do you want me to do with this cake.
Thank goodness that is over.
Then we headed over to see LO's great grandfather where he purchased this monstrosity for her birthday.  She picked it out obvs.  It is pretty funny to see what she picks out when given free reign to pick out a gift.  She picked out a large pink pool which wouldn't fit in the car and then a baby swing to hang from a tree.  Then princess dresses because we are definitely short on those in this house.

We will continue her birthday celebration at Disneyland where one of her cousins is also celebrating her birthday and then onto the princess tea with her cousins with special guest, Rapunzel.  I am pretty excited because I know that she will have such a good time.

In other NOT FUN news, we had family pictures on Sunday.  Oh, how the times be a changing.  St Patty's Day in Venice Beach taking pictures.  I hate Venice and I hate family pics so it was no surprise when I ACTUALLY burst into tears 15 minutes into it and yelled, "SHUT IT DOWN!" The weather was crappy, the three year old was in a bad mood and I was a titch high strung.  I had promised myself that I would be more relaxed and go into the whole thing with a devil may care attitude.  I didn't comment on DH's outfit or tell him what to wear.  I did tell him his shirt looked cheap and made him look like a gang banger but HE ASKED.   The photographer was wonderful and she sent us a sneak peek and they look kind of great.  I was pleasantly surprised.  LO really liked her when she wasn't acting tortured.

Speaking of torture, we tried out gymnastics yesterday with a friend.  The kids in the class acted like the class was pure evil.  LO loved the different equipment and was kind of a natural (surprising giving her lineage) but the class was the poops.  Also, its kind of hard to learn gymnastics when you don't like to be touched so the Olympics is really a toss up at this point.
I have been working on a cake up in here for this weekend's tea party and it has not been going too well.  Insert BIG ass sigh.

Finally, LO just talking about stuff.
